Fashion Challenge: How to accessorize a dramatic, statement dress

This week, I realized how frequently we’re in a fashion dilemma. The “culprit”? A spectacular dress, elegant and eccentric, the kind that is so impossibly perfect that we have absolutely no idea how to wear it. This Versace number is a perfect example of take-your-breath-away dress.

Naturally, I took the challenge of styling it in an elegant yet daring manner (how else, guys? :D) (get to know me better on Fashion Grinch FB Page!)

First of all, the shoes. I knew that extravagant/studded/crystal pumps were not an option – the dress is empowering by itself, I didn’t need to add extra bling. I had to find ones that matched a beautiful dress like great wines do with extraordinary meals. Nudes were a temporary idea, but nothing more – I didn’t like the glossy texture for this dress. Matte is better. In the end, I chose a white pair of ankle pumps, with snake-emboss – unique and classy.

The clutch was also crucial. Given the fact that I couldn’t find anything indigo or exactly like the dress, I changed my mind from feminine, elliptical, satin clutches to a geometrical one, almost like a Lego toy. My obvious choice for earrings was vintage Yves Saint Laurent -understated, geometrical and elegant.

Last but not least, I my favorite perfume, Armani Code. I encourage you to do the same with a bit of your fav, before going out, for a confidence boost.
