No, I’m not gonna tell you about some creeps on the subway (we all know them). Instead, I’m hoping I can take you back to the 90’s, when grunge and creeper shoes were all the rage.
You might have seen a cousin of them in stores – the flatform. Similar in shape, with one difference – creepers are more bulky and have chunkier, often lug soles. Not the sexiest crayon in the bunch, huh?
That’s what I thought and I’m still collecting slip-ons (all prints&textures) buuut I have to say you can make some winning combinations with them, especially this fall. Easily paired with leather skirts and plaid shirts, they can be the IT shoes this season.
The one rule to remember before you start digging in your wardrobe – choose light materials, slim t-shirts and jackets, tights and usually items that will elongate your figure and follow your body shape. Let Creeper shoes make a statement and always find a balance when you get dressed up – keep the upper side slim if the lower is more bulky, like in this case.
Here are some fashionable outfits for inspiration:
But my favorite has to be this one:
Paris Street Style Fashion, PFW, SS15
You know why: graphic pattern, modern prints, relaxed haistyle and sunglasses. Hip and chic!
Now, after you’ve seen all this, would you wear creeper shoes? How?
