Two Ways To Wear Copper

I have always loved metallics – silver clutches, golden slip-ons – but I never thought I could wear a significant, bigger item in broad daylight or even at night. Every time I tried to picture it, the whole look seemed too flashy for me, like suddenly turning on the lights in the middle of the night.
But this copper shade convinced me to get out of my comfort zone. I first fell in love with a coppery pair of sneakers from Geox and then I saw this beautiful pair of leather pants from Isabel Marant online. They instantly felt relaxed, unpretentious and perfect, considering the season.
How to dress down metallic trousers? Well, I don’t think you should. It’s more about complementing them than trying to take the color down a notch.
I chose two looks – day and night, casual and dressy.

For day, I went with a classic colors scheme – blue and orange (complementary colors) – but in navy and copper shades. Navy suede slip-ons with a bit of shine keep the outfit luxe while the sweater comes with a cool factor you can see on the streets of New York. I added embellished headphones because, well, you can rarely see me without them on the street 🙂
For night, I chose to highlight the pretious copper shade with black, creating an elegant contrast. A cashmere turtleneck top is not only on trend right now but also a very chic, French item to wear. Gianvito Rossi’s heels are the essence of refinement, while the MK hoops bring a much-expected 90s feel.
What do you think? Will you freshen up your fall wardrobe with metallics, especially copper?
