I’m not a nail expert – not in the least. I never play with nail designs or accessories, preferring the simple look – one interesting color on all nails. It’s simple, looks chic and never draws too much the attention from the actual jewellry, clothes or make-up. So, you’re not going to find here super tips on how to put funky, plastic flowers on your nails or complicated grids, galaxies, God knows what.
But I figured that those of you who are like me, aka don’t have time to over decorate your nails or aren’t inclined to learn how to make works of art, should still have a nice collection of bright colors for the summer, that look great and don’t wear off easily.
As you can imagine, I haven’t spent a fortune on nail polishes, since they’re not my main point of interest when it comes to beauty. I looked for budget-friendly ones that do the job.
My top favorite brands, thus, are: Rimmel London, Flormar, Golden Rose. All of them hold up to 7 days, days in which I do household chores, of course. The color goes evenly and is strong enough to go beautifully in just one coat. As for brushes, I like the ones at Rimmel London more because they’re softer and bigger.
My top colors for summer: a coral red from Rimmel London (the one on my nails above) – shade 430 Coralicious, a magenta one from the same brand – shade 330 Hip, Hip, Hooray, bright white from Flormar, shade 400 and two that should go great in mid-August. Both nail polishes make me think about scorching sun, sand, desert, long, lazy afternoons. I’m talking about Golden Rose – shade 146 and Flormar Feather Look – shade Goldfinch F07.
PS: Don’t forget the top coat, of course!
